For those in Texas, Crazy Water tastes good.

Crazy Water, a brand of mineral water from Mineral Wells, TX is sold at HEB grocery stores in Texas. I tried it. It is very good. Supposedly there is a version of it that has Lithium in it from the naturally occurring Lithium in the rock formations that the water percolates through. I just tried the mildest version.
Has anyone else tried this Taste of Texas?

Haven't tried it Brian, but do come from the Rogue Valley of Southern Oregon, where in the town of Ashland natural "Lithia Water" bubbles up in public fountains. One takes it for one's health, and not just for fun after the first time. This is the home of Lithia Motors, a large car dealership chain.

About 15 years ago I bought a couple bottles. I tried one of the "low end" waters and was not terribly impressed. I base that opinion on nothing more than my idea of what water should taste like.

The well water we drank when I was a kid tasted better.

Another of their water products is supposed to settle indigestion. I think that one sat in my garage for 4 or 5 years and I never even opened it after tasting the other one.

I guess I just never got indigestion bad enough to need the "Crazy Water" cure.

Note that there are many places in the U.S. where arsenic is 'naturally occurring' in the water, and isn't exactly good for people.

Lithium in trace amounts (and even perhaps in lower-trace-amounts) is likely ok, but one has to be careful...

The lead doesn't come from the copper, rather, the lead that was used to solder the pipes.

Depends on the era the pipes were installed. For over twenty years, and probably closer to forty, most places have required lead free solder on domestic water systems. Current installation methods don’t solder at all.

Some of the latest pipe materials are non metallic. Because they are really only recently becoming wide spread the jury is still out on possible break down as they age.

Lead from the pipes themselves is mostly no loner an issue. The biggest problem lately was Flint Michigan. In that case the pipes would have been fine. However, greed on the part of local government caused them to change water sources. The change in the water resulted in abnormally high rates of lead to be released into the water.

Of the available types of domestic piping in homes, most experts, and I’m one, still recommend copper using one of the newer non solder methods of attachment.

I might get a little grumpy if I get up early and want some coffee, but I don't consider it a problem. If it leads me to do wrong, it will be gone immediately.

One Grandfather on my Mother's side was an alcoholic who was able to stop. It wasn't easy, but things which are worth doing well are not often easy. Grizz, I am happy for you that you are fighting it.
