30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

Agree. I wish I was out shooting a black powder cartridge rifle.

Ive watched this vudeo and showed to a number of people that you dont need high velocity to cause damage.

Fascinating, I have to keep watching it.... I've never seen the compressed air explosion in Gel before.

Very interesting!! Has to be the air self igniting as the cavity compressed. Hmm do that happen inside critters??

That is SO cool...!!!
Very good videography...!!!
And everything I’ve read or seen or experienced says best penetration on living targets seems to be at around 1200-1400 FPS. Heavier goes farther, and fat-and-flat does the most damage. If the caliber begins with the letter “f” the target will be “eff’d”.
...
Maybe the secret is the letter ‘F’...
Flat-nosed f-caliber bullet weighing f-hundred grains, at f-hundred meters-per-second...

The little "red devil" is most likely a pocket of powder that ignited and burned separately from the main charge.
The puff of smoke on the RHS of the block exiting the gel is also, likely generated from the friction of the bullet passing thru the gel... Forced out as the "wound" channel collapses on itself.

Wondering about that myself. Guess you'd have to shoot a big one end on to get enough wound channel to cause that anomaly?
