Well, my hunting will never seem as exciting ever again.being hard pressed whilst loading, had fired the original ramrod into a chiefs stomach, from which they had no opportunity of extracting it.

The adventures these British hunters had in Africa in the first half of the 19th century shall never be repeated. The experience they gained with firearms, loads and the field performance of same will never be equaled. Even those who brought up the "end of the age" -- men like Bell and Taylor -- had immense respect for the practical knowledge these men earned at such cost. Going to get round to Selous, Ray? Don't overlook our French friend Edouard Foa, either.
