I always wanted on of those! Recently saw one in a pawn shop for$775.00. It was to beat up for the money! I didn't want a project gun at this time.

A real ADL like yours is very hard to find! They sold so few of them that Marlin ended up using up the "336 ADL" barrels on regular 336A guns, causing a lot of confusion in later years! People often buy these guns with the 336 ADL marked barrels, and think they've got a real ADL, or think somebody swapped their checkered stocks for plain stocks.
Finding a true 336A-DL is nice, and something I sure don't see very often!

Ever since the first A-DL was offered, Marlin always seemed to make more barrels than they had orders for guns. And being cost conscious, they've never tossed any parts out. So this habit of using up the mismarked barrels has gone on at least since right after WWII with the Model 36, and possibly even before on Model 1936 Marlins.
