Re: Well . . . . Darn!!
Hey Steve get yourself a couple air filters for each car and change them once the fallout is over. When my uncle in South Tahoe used to fight forrest fires he always made a point to change them! If you have air conditioning/ furnace filters don't forget those too!
Its sad that the wild places burn, sucks for us too but it really is beneficial for the wilderness.

Smoke over here in the Uncompahgre Valley in Western Colordao, but at least we don't have ash raining down on us. Going to check on AC filters today as a matter of fact!! Probably be September before they might even come close to containment, unless we get some rain. Supposed to be 96 degrees today. Tinderbox conditions

Re: Well . . . . Darn!!
Feeling your pain, Steve, When I lived in Oregon it seems we had about a month of particulate alerts, choking smoke, stinging eyes and red suns every summer and sometimes lingering well into fall. Fortunately, we have only one small fire -- 2,500 acres, in the Smoky Bear Ranger District -- burning right now and it is staying on the floor like a good fire, burning mostly brush and old fuels. Changing winds bring a taste of the smoke here. The daily T-storms in our mountains have been very wet, thank gosh, and the Lincoln National Forest is allowing campfires again. Hope you get some wet weather and relief soon as it is no darned fun.

I'd be happy to move along to 2021 so we can leave the electoral garbage behind -- and the virus, too.
Re: Well . . . . Darn!!
Getting ash fall today. Guess the fire North of Grand Junction grew over 40,000 acres overnight and looks like it will be the largest fire in Colorado History really soon.
