Dwight did something this afternoon for me that I had not experienced in years...and kinda thought I would never have the chance to feel the excitement I am feeling now... ...
After meeting and being with him almost three months I have enjoyed such thrills...but only "second handed"....Every chance I got I went for the "gusto" and loved every minute of it....Today...this afternoon...I am legal...no longer just wishful thinking on my part... Dwight bought me out into the open...I OWN a lever gun!!!!!!!...One of my own!!!!!!....Now he does not have to fret when I "cast eyes" at his 1953 Marlin 39A-He purchased me a Marlin 1982 39M!!!!!!!!!!...Oh yes....I am a happy, fulfilled lady!!!!!...
We also have other news but he can relay that if he would so desire....Got to watch my P's and Q's....want to keep this man happy!!!!!...This has been a "red letter day" for me or really both of us in more than one way.... .....MissKitty-a owner of a lever gun as of 05-20-08.....many thanks to my "sweetie" from up north..... Well really he is from the northern Ozarks...I just kid him alot....

Talk about bubbly!!!
Now that you've had a fine start, I s'pose the next step is companion revolver in the same caliber! And a cartridge belt, of course!
I have to recommend Ruger for such as that. His n hers pistolas!
C'mon, folks, am I right?
+1 more on the range reports, too. Wanna see how much you smile after throwin' bullets downrange
MISS KITTY Congrats on your first lever gun. I hope you enjoy it half as much as we enjoyed your post. Only way it could be better is if we saw some pictures.

Got MissKitty's 39M cleaned and and checked. We went out and let her cycle some rounds through it, she sure enjoyed that, and it cycled all rounds with no problems. Still some practice needed to get a bit more comfortable with it but I think she will enjoy every bit of that.
Matching revolver: my Single Six is a bit large for her so wondering how a Ruger Bearcat would work for her. Any ideas if a Bearcat is too small?
Congratulations on your first lever!!!!!!!!! I know it won't be your last! I think the Ruger Bearcat would be just the thing for Miss Kitty.. Good Luck!!! Art
A Bearcat would be perfect, I think.
But don't take my word for it, take her out shopping and see what her hand thinks. My money says the Bearcat would fit just right if the single six is too big.
If the hand approves the fit, you could check gunbroker.com for a deal
Ain't she a "beaut???"...Got to shoot her a little yesterday afternoon....feels like it belongs right on my left shoulder..lol...Thank you sweetie for the gun and taking the photo for all the inquiring feller lever gunners.... MissKitty

Dwight: Now you have do the honorable thing as a gentleman for this fine lady ....... get her a centerfire levergun. A 30-30 would be a great second gun. It can be loaded down to 32 HR mag levels on up to a 30-30 AI conversion for almost 307 Win power. Get her a 30-30 and Sam Fadala's book. You can't let all that enthusiasm go to waste! Congrats Miss Kitty!
You can follow the link in Dwight's post to see my lever....He will post one of my Bearcat soon...Wanted one of us when we got married holding our guns...still might dress up in our "marrying clothes" and get one..lol..-MissKitty
