I'm thinking about a strip of that self-sticking emory "stuff" to give it a little traction....I really don't want to cut the stock, and install a P.Pad.....

Re: Those Henry Big Boy Metal Buttplates
That was one of the reasons I didn't go with the Henry when I was looking for a pistol caliber carbine. I ended up going with a Ruger 77/357 instead. I just need to shoot it more.

I don't have a Henry, but my Puma was in need of something. So I added a leather, lace on butt pad. Kinda kept the essence of a lever gun...

3M makes some really dense foam with adhesive back in 1/4" and 3/8" thickness that I've put on stocks. Worked great. I coukd mail you some pieces if you wanted to try. Todd/3leg
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

Re: Those Henry Big Boy Metal Buttplates
Thanks for the offer, but even 1/4" would be too thick...the LOP is a hair too long as it is....I was just thinking that if it's solid brass, I could send it out for some checkering....3leggedturtle wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2020 1:05 pm 3M makes some really dense foam with adhesive back in 1/4" and 3/8" thickness that I've put on stocks. Blaine,
Here is an idea; coat it with the rubber coating the auto parts stores sell to coat tools and whatnot.

Re: Those Henry Big Boy Metal Buttplates
It would probably look best checkered. The other methods mentioned would be functional too.
