Re: chiappa handguns
I have a revolver by them in .17 HMR. It has issues with the cylinder pin sliding back and locking up the hammer. I would not buy it again even as cheap as it was.

Re: chiappa handguns
Read the reviews. Lots of issues with feeding, and jamming. And those who've contacted the factory about warranty have simply been told to try other ammo. Lots of dissatisfied customers. Too bad really as an affordable 1911 .22 could be a huge seller if they'd figured it out.

Re: chiappa handguns
If it's as reliable as their 22 M1 and 9mm M1 carbines it might make a exactable weight for fishing, that is if pieces don't fall off it.
Re: chiappa handguns
I own a Chiappa 1911-22 and it is what it is.
First thing that comes to mind is it's rather cheaply made of zinc alloy(Chiappalloy) much like a Bryco/Jennings/Raven or similiar 'budget' handguns.
It is picky about what ammo it likes. I leaded the barrel bad bad bad shooting some Winchester lead bullet .22 ammo in the Chiappa...likely as much an ammo issue as a Chiappa issue however no leading issues with plated bullets.
From the box new the gun shot really low...reading the destruction manual and Chiappa recommends filing the front sight to 'proper' height to suit...and that's what I did. Probably filed off an 1/8" inch or so to get it regulated and shooting to point of aim....a Sharpie fixed the front sight finish.
The Chiappa has a key lock safety built into the right side of the slide thats an eyesore. The black finish is easily worn off.
There are some folks who claim these are not safe guns to shoot as the slide could come apart and hit you in the face....I have some doubts if that has actually happened as nobody has ever posted a picture of a Chiappa slide failure. I imagine shooters have cracked the slides on these and I have seen pics of GSG/SIG 1911-22 pistols with cracked slides
Do I recommend a Chiappa 1911-22? No...not really a bad gun but not really a good gun either. I bought a Colt government model 1911-22(Umarex/Germany) not too long after buying the Chiappa 1911-22 and it is a far superior .22 pistol....A Beretta Neos .22 pistol can be had for similiar price to the Chiappa pistol and folks who own those seem to like them.

Re: chiappa handguns
Never paid much attention to Chiappa firearms. I've never shot one so I am not qualified to judge them. But....that rhino revolver is the ugliest hunk of metal I've ever seen. And some have a msrp of over $1000! I could think of much better pistols to buy for far less. To each his own.

Re: chiappa handguns
The Berette Neos is certainly not a 1911 .22, and they're ugly as sin. Reminds me of a ray gun from a 60's space movie.
