Seen this hard wood table leg laying in the shop and thought that looks like it would make a nice tire thumper.
Drilled it out 1 1/4 by 2 1/2 inch and filled with lead

That is nice. I have some experience with being thumped by one of those while some bonehead was trying to rob me. I know EXACTLY why they are called thumpers.
Well done. Might want to hide it from Norma though in case you get a little out of line.

Looks good. A leather loop for your wrist would be neat too.
When my dad was a kid, he had a similar rig to kill porcupines for the bounty they had on the feet. It was just a little longer.

Many years ago I dated a tough divorcee. She heated up a frying pan and brained her ex with it! That had to smart!

Cool!
I have a cherry night stick that belonged to an Ohio State Trooper that was a friend of my grandfather's. I'll have to get a picture of it. Sure has a nice balance to it.

Might want to pin that slug in place. I did something similar and while goofing off the slug let go. It ended up poking a hole in the cement siding of a customer’s house.
Kind regards,

Quite the astronomy teaching tool! It ought to help someone observe stars at close range when used judiciously.
