We made a camp chuck box yesterday and today, the legs on the table fold up flat for transport.

Leather straps for hinges?
Nope metal hinges, the straps hold the top and side closed, have a slit in the end of the top leather that hooks over a screw.

or you could build a conastoga wagon and attach the cook's box to it, like the good old days. fast as you work, you'd be done in a two or three days. you could tow it with the Harley, or 4-wheeler, or a couple of mules even.
a very versitile and genteel way to enjoy the days and nights... blankets and hot chocolate while watching the moon rise on a starry night.....

HOWEVER, you could ease your wife into it. start with a buckboard and some hay rides.. then stake sides... to keep the hay and firewood on... etc. you could disguise it further by using car wheels and axles, and building the wagon wheels later.. a multi part project
Actually we have the astro, all wheel drive Radio , bed and toilet.

That would be useful for camping or a lot of other activities. The uses are nearly unlimited. Totally cool!

Wow! Pithy very well thought out. When I was in BOY scouts, we had a chick box for summer camp. Even us young strong and DUMB kids thought it was a little heavy for hike in trips
