....it was only the photo of the product, but since it LOOKED like a suppressor (and had "1/2x28" written as the caption), I thought I'd check it out....
As a novelty, I have seen some items which fit on the barrel of a 10/22 and are threaded to fit oil filters. Not illegal to own as a novelty item. VERY ILLEGAL to actually use. Sort of like owning a switchblade. Keep it in a case for the novelty of it, but do not even think about using it. Should anyone wish to check, the muzzle of my 10/22 is free of any marks which would indicate adding any illegal devices. Why would any sane person deliberately take such a chance?

Actually it is a WIX part. The ones I've seen had about 3/4" threaded inlet and outlet. Don't think it would do much as a suppressor.

It does seem like the 1/2x28 to 3/4 NPT adapter would be good to have in a vehicle if you have a suppressor-capable gun, for the EMP/bad times scenario in which you might want to improvise to protect your hearing during a long walk home, but wouldn't care about being in violation at that point.
Obviously one could leave their registered/stamped suppressor in their vehicle with the firearm, but our laws strangely make the 'suppressor' more regulated, more expensive, and harder to replace, than the actual firearm... ...and I'm sure more legally a problem if stolen.
Personally, I just keep a pair of hearing protectors and foam plugs in the car, and generally don't even have a rifle. Usually just a pistol and lots of magazines.....enough for three shots per mile if I had to walk home....
