Just spent $197 on fuel...I got more diesel and gas...(well, I usually have

gas) than the gas station I just left.

I went in the WaWa and got four loaves of bread....the last of it.....some lady with three little kids asked me if she could have one of them as she was out at home. I flipped her a quarter and told her to call someone who gives a F. Naaaaa....made that up...would have given her all of them if need be.

All these five gallon containers in the back......I was worried about blowing a fanny burp and lighting up the Jeep....boooooomm! Man dies from be over gassed.......

Hey Jay...good to see someone is alive.......who's this "dark man coming?". They must be as I went past a bus stop today and that's all I saw...guess they were waiting to get on the bus to come to your house.

We're getting loads of people with this nasty disease....so far the closest is about 20 miles from me. Near all institutions are shut down around here....about half the traffic as normal.

I looked on the internet for corona virus case in Maine and your right...zero...so far. Some expert says it's too cold up there and the little virus bugs are hiding in old buffalo coats to keep warm. You stay careful old buddy and away from any old coats.---6

"The Dark Man is coming " was from "The Stand". When it was all breaking down it showed a guy on the street ringing a bell and shouting that. It meant the devil was coming. The story is about a viral plague causing the apocalypse, but it's really about the struggle of good and evil.

Haha well I'm sure it's just that no cases have been identified.

Funny that you mention toilet paper. Costco has a sign out front that says they are all sold out of tp. WTF! Are people more worried about wiping away the dark stuff than they are about eating?

Geeze, when things get that bad you can use an old t shirt which should be good for about 20 wipes....40 if you turn it inside out.

Always use a light colored shirt so you can see the "used area". After you run out of t shirts, just use the left hand and wipe it on the curtains. Helps to have a cat around....they are good for thousands of wipes. Just grab the cat and wipe, they will lick it clean.

Last night me and mom rented Blazzing Saddles for $3.99 from You Tube. Ain't seen it in its entirety since it came out in '74 when we saw it at the movies, when movies were good. What a laugh......"The sheriff is near".

I crashed early last night, for some reason Claro was carrying on at 2:30 am yesterday, I got up to take them out- nothing! Again this morning at 2:45!! Gotta figure out why she is doing this... oh yeah because she can't do stairs yet and she WANTS to .

My sister was going on about TP, so I ordered from Amazon, 54 rolls delivered to my front door.

I saw the head honcho of NY/NJ port Authority has been diagnosed with this COVID19.

Joe Biden?....here, where I live, Joe Biden has this mega mansion about 10-15 miles down the road, just over the Pa. line into Delaware. It's in the area of DuPonts and their descendants......I've talked to many people who have had dealings with Sleepy Joe over the decades as to work on his house.....one thing in common they ALL had to say...he don't pay his bills AND he is a drunk......

When you don't pay your bills and you have the money.... and the work that was done was up to standards, there's one reason......you look down on that individual and feel you are above them...... many rich people are like this.... .Sleepy Joe looked at that auto worker and talked to him like he was a nobody. I would have spit in his face had he talked to me like that and dealt with the consequences......could you imagine being on every talk show and telling the TV audiences that the only recourse you had was to spit in the guys face ......you would have more supporters than detractors and exposed him for the elitist he thinks he is.---6

Yup I keep elderberry syrup in the fridge, just got elderberry capsules from puritians pride. Whenever I start feeling cruddy I take it but now I'm taking it everyday.

I remember reading about hildabeast being on one of our bases in the sandbox when it was on the Odumbo's staff, there was a team of MPs with a bomb sniffing dog checking her quarters, in she comes and starts yelling about that filthy dog, called the guys every name in the book- yup those types of people are lower than pond scum!

That Hillary needs a serious case of milk leg disease.....my BIL died from it....his one leg was the size of three legs and he had to have an Amish man make him a shoe that must have been a size 50...for real, this guy suffered terribly for 3-4 years. He had to sleep on a rubber mat.....clothes had to be changed 5-10 times a day as fluid leaked from his skin.....

Anyway......you guys have to admit that my pick of Donald Trump for POTUS from the very beginning was a good one. All my buddies were telling me I was crazy....I stayed with it..........item 2.....I said from the git go that this virus was different and the Americans were going to panic.......the road in front of my house is a short cut from two major highways and is packed from 3-6.......just a smattering today.......

I don't know of any cases in my immediate area

Most every institution is shut down.

Went to Costco again today.......signs on most all non perishable goods...2 to a customer. Looking at the people's faces showed unhappiness and worry.

We bought a case of peanut butter, FOUR cases of Bushes beans, 75 pounds of dry rice, another 6-8 cases of non perishable soups....all kinds of stuff.

It's NOT THE DISEASE I'm worrying about...it's the fallout from the panic and a breakdown of day to day operations and people are hardly sick....yet..........

ABC News had the nation's leader on infectious disease on the TV today and he said, "this covid 19 virus is the perfect killing machine....TEN times worse than the regular flu........APOCALYPSE NOW!!!

Oh...oh...I forgot....After shopping at Costco me and mom were driving to the Vitamin Shop where I bought a $100 worth of Elderberry syrup, Licorice tablets and vitamin C...THANKS AJMD and PILLER!!!

Anyway, we were driving home and mom asked me what we are going to do for entertainment if we are stuck home......NO PROBLEM.........with the four cases of Bushes Beans we can have farting contests and see which of us is better at "singing" the Star Spangled Banner.....

Having a worst case scenario character I was just thinking of a total collapse. Picturing in my mind houses abandoned or with weeds and grass 3' tall. Former enemies walking around asking for a glass of water which I sell for $100 for 8 ounces......cars on cinder blocks......crumbling roadways...........

and I'm sitting in front of the house, an AR slung on my back, a 1911 in a shoulder holster with an Uzi next to me, a tall drink with an umbrella in it, full belly, the Rubicon next to me idling wasting fuel with heavy metal rock music blasting, lights on in the house.....all with a perfectly manicured lawn.....

Yea....I'm rotten to the core and even that is going bad.....

On a serious note, my wife was talking to her sister and her sister told her that my wife's niece, who has three kids and a new Range Rover while her husband drives a new 70K GMC said they have virtually no food at home and was wondering if they should go out and stock up. My wife told her to go get some...if they don't mind standing in line for 3 hours and settling for Roman noodles.

Had to take the Son over to Cummins shop in Ft. Worth to pick up his Kenworth, then stop by Summit racing to pick up a new transmission cooler for the dually, and a new transfer case oil pump housing... (both are pre-emptive fixes). Then ran off to Tractor Supply to get some 3-pt pins. Then had to weld up the top boss on the post hole auger, (just finished rebuilding the gearbox with new bearings & seals)... Got those errands done, and this crud hit me like a bomb!

Oooohhh forgot to mention earlier......this is no BS.....the last week I've been doing a lot of work around the pond. I've been picking up rocks left over from the "dredging" and piling them here and there. A lot of this rock is quartz. I've got a couple of big ones at the end of the driveway........ Today, I was doing the same and picked up a rock and the shape of it caught my attention. I grabbed it and took it to the house and washed it up good.

I think this is an Indian axe......what makes me say this is that one side has the millions-of-years-to-take patina while the rest of it is whitish where I'm guessing it was knapped.

This entire area was once the home of the Lenni Lenape Indians.

My pond is a creek.....I just dammed up one end.

I'm thinking it's too conincidental to have been broken at one time and took this shape.---6

Looking at the edge....patina side on right.....the angle is near perfect. (Our lamp throws the light off a bit)

That could be an ax or it could be just a rock. I'm not an xspert in these matters.
You are correct in your thinking, my brethren almost always stayed around water, I have known many people that have found lots of arrow heads by rivers. Just have to dig and sift over and over.

Griff I'd say you picked up something while you were at the dr's office, that time of year for bugs to congregate in such places. Hope you feel better soon! Keep up the fluids!

We quit a little early today, started tearing off siding at the Washington house and the skies opened up.

Boy I get a kick out of the old western shows, Marshall Dillion just did a quick draw killing a Cheyenne at about 100 yards- AFTER the warrior made a bow shot.
Last night on a Bonanza a guy with a derringer made a shot at about 75 yards- that's some good shootin!! Or how about a guy with a carbine cant hit squat but the guy on horse back going full gallop hits a guy up in the rocks everytime!!

Some sorta 24 hr bug... after sleeping in, in little 20 minute bursts, woke up around 11 feeling much improved. Sore throat is much better, sinus's still raining a little, fever is all but gone... And while I really WANT to go out and paint the newly rebuilt pole hole digger, I think I'll stay indoors and recuperate a bit more. Feeling up to having a fine cigar... and a glass of brandy, maybe with a little honey in it!

Not on the eastern front...I can smell the Russians coming......Fred.....as you know a Colt impresses me, no matter the vintage or model.......to me, a Ruger is a tool, about the best tool that money can buy in the gun department.......they just don't stir the soul like a Colt does......"as per John Taffin"......early flattops and flatgates come close......early Smiths like the N.M. #3, Triplelocks, or other pre war N frames are also good in the "soul stirring dept."

Gunny's working and Griff is recouperating..........Jay and Tom are AWOL.......

Griff.....it sucks to be sick....we have all been there but when you start to feel better you usually feel better than before you got sick......it's all that R & R. we sometimes forget to do.

I'm sitting here trying to authenticate this stone axe. I'm pretty much sure it's a real deal........gonna take it to the museum in Allentown to see what they say. Looked it over real good....no new breaks....and areas were made to keep the "rope" from slipping off......

As with most things in life, I'm only interested in the loot end of it.

Glad I ordered TP from Amazon when I did- they are out of SCOTTS ! Was talking with my chiropractor buddy as he adjusted me, he was at a shoprite the other day and some guy blocked him when he tried to get chef boyardee ravioli! Literally jumped in from of him, then declared IM A PREPPER AND IM TAKING ALL THIS RAVIOLI. So Joe says I'm a PREPPER too. So they got to jaw jacking and the guy gives him 2 cans, he wasn't really there for ravioli !

He also said the local schools are closing for a couple days so they can try out Google classroom, the kids have to login for assignments, send them back when the day is done. As far as I know we don't have ANY confirmed cases out here yet.

Claro's incision is healing nicely! She spent the day without her lampshade on, seems to be leaving the sutures alone. GOOD- she has been knocking stuff over all around the house!

......and thought I could handle him......he wouldn't get the box the ravioli's came in.

Fred is changing the tune.......I have to get some guns out for a photo session......

Griff is wrong......I think I fell into a storage pit or some kind of a work pit of stone aged tools......I could fill up a dump truck with quartz.......a serious concentration of this yellow/orange quartz.

Tell me this ain't a hammer...found this today......both ends are smooth and 90 degree angles....perfect for pounding in stakes.

Single action Colt..45 L. Colt.......1917....can't find if it's ever been fired....one of my favorites

Another favorite..1873 Winchester.....38-40.....made in 1891.....same condition as the above Colt
Notice color case on the lever and hammer along with the fire blue on the loading gate.......you don't see that very often.

Six here is the question I have been asking - no answer. That 44 Spl is New Vaquero size but it is marked Vaquero. My question.: are they rating cylinder strength and not frame size since the cylinder walls are thicker than a .45 they mark New Vaquero?

Fred....the recommendation is that the New Vacaro will handle anything the single action Colt will.

That means a steady diet of mid range loads will never hurt it. It will even handle heavier loads but use sparingly....such as 17.5 of 2400 with a big boy Keith.

The gun will,stay together at 44 magnum pressures but I wouldn't push it.

Remember the old Lyman manual that said it was OK for 26 grains of 4227 and a 200 gr. Bullet for the 44-40 in a Winchester 1892?....cases would split in half......Back in the day a few of those found their way into a Single action Colt that I had....scared the hell out of me.......vvaaaaaaooooommmmm!!!!!! Gun held together fine ...but I learned from it.---6

You ain't got nothing to worry as to TP........just start with the sleeve of the B coat and work your way around and in a week it will be dried out so walk outside and shake it a few times and your good for another week. Just make sure the wind is away from you.

Why do you think you missed em?...I knew you were coming.

The crazy is here. The guy I ride to work with told me tonight that his son's girlfriend works at Target down in Augusta and 2 old ladies where physically fighting in the isle over a pack of TP today.

Gee fresh blue, good case colors and unmolested walnut on 100 year old guns- what could be better!!??

I'm glad I went to bed last night and didnt have to see those LNIB guns, wouldnt have slept a wink. I slept 9-5 though.

Cylinder wall thickness adds to strength but the steel formula and heat treatment mean more to it.
Back when I was in school, John Gallagher was converting SBHs into all sorts of new calibers. He and another guy settled on 348 cases cut down , 358 bullets. Anyhow I can remember them coming back from the test fire chamber with one that blew up. No one got hurt! Seems the choice of powder was not quite right! I dont remember if that was a new cylinder or if he just rechambered the factory on. I have a picture of the gun somewhere.

Given whatever heat treat Ruger uses for SAAMI spec cartridges the only obvious difference is cylinder walls.

While you hear of 45 Colts blowing up the same does not seem to be true of 44 Spl.
