I made this .625 blow gun from electrical conduit, it`s the same bore as Cold steel Company.
Ya can make darts or buy the Cold Steel ones on Ebay.
Lot of fun.

Pitchy when i lived in an apartment in the cities, i shot one about 30-40 times a day. Didnt take long to get fairly good with it. Todd/3leg
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres
250 Savage... its what the 223 wishes it could be...!
Yepper takes some practice alright, seeing two barrels and placing the target between them is the eirdess thing.
At least that`s how it looks to me.
Good talking to ya today buddy.

Thanks Jim, i haven`t shot any critters yet just inside target but lots of penetration with those heavy Cool Steel darts.

Mine was only a .40 cal too...

I have a 40 cal, on occasion I have stuck a chipmunk or squirrel by opening the kitchen window. They 'jump the string' after being shot at and missed a few times.
I have also heated the tips, flattening them and sharpen with a file for a broad head- they do kill well.
I bought a 40 on ebay and made a wood 50 cal but the .625 shoots the best.

For the 40 cal, a friend years ago used .410 shotgun wads and stuck a piece of brazing rod in the center. Tom got pretty good with his.

There is a guy with a show on outdoor channel or sportsman channel, Relentless Pursuit, anyhow he has shot loads of critters including a bear with his cold steel blow gun. He has also used the cold steel spear to take lots of animals, almost killed himself with a spear.
Lenn, I made a conduit blowgun, too. I used bamboo skewers as the darts and formed the cone out of paper soaked with Krazy Glue. After a little practice, I could hit my 3D deer target more accurately than with a compound bow. I was impressed. Note that these are illegal in the G.d. state of Kalifornia, along with slingshots and such.
What makes them that way?
A friend of mine carries his to his deer stand. When he gets one of those pesky tree rats that keep barking at him and seem to alert the deer he lets 'em have it.
Someone that has spent a lot of years smoking might have problems building up a lot of air pressure. On the other hand I played trumpet and just gave it up a few years ago. With my lungs or someone like Blaine who plays the tuba we can build up a lot more force. I can drive a .40 cal dart into a 2X4 hard enough that it takes a pair of pliers to pull it out.
That's a good idea. I should get mine out and start messing with it again. I wonder if Crimson Trace makes a laser for it?
