A couple of new/ used ones.

Post by 2ndovc »

I've been on a tear for stainless Ruger single actions. This Super Blackhawk .44 really caught my attention and I got it pretty cheap on Gunbroker a couple of weeks ago. The grips came from ebay just the other day.
Haven't shot it yet but someone spent some money on an action job. Smoothest Ruger I've ever had.

The AR is something I've been chasing for a bit. It's not exactly what I thought it would be, but sometimes ya just have to roll with it.
I'd had a '93 vintage Colt Sporter Lightweight and have been looking for another. I've picked up a couple other Colts and ARs but really wanted that LW back.
Century Arms had a small batch of Colt ARs come in from our Canadian friends various PDs. My FFL guy and I thought we'd bagged a perfect replacement but what showed was a bit different. He called me that it was in but not the one we thought, I was a bit disappointed. But, once I picked it up I got pretty jazzed about it.
Made in Canada, heavy barrel with a 1/9 twist. A bit marked up but looks and feels just right. Hard to explain but it just fits.

Heavy barrel and 1:9 twist sounds good to me. That twist does good for light bullets all the way up to about 62 grain. You might get good stabilization on heavier bullets, or you might not. I have a 1:8 twist on my AR. 68 grains is the heaviest that will shoot out of it without losing accuracy. 62 grains gives awesome accuracy.

I hope your rifle shoots great.

I have a stag m4 in .556 with an anderson lower and magpul furniture. just keep her wet and she will bark all day. I have not had problem 1 with mine. They are surprising accurate rifles. I have the one finger charging handle and the flip rear sights and forearm like yours . No rails though, I kinda like the old school look. Just need to get a bipod.

Jason, liking your Canada-built AR. Didn't know Colt had a plant up there. Very cool.
