Recently picked up a Model 86 in 40-65, 1898, and a Model 92 SRC in 25-20, mgf 1924. Both have very good wood and metal, with the 86 showing the best finish. Bores in both a great and am looking forward to shooting them both. I have every thing needed to shoot the 86 and most for the 25-20 EXCEPT for the brass and none to be found at any reloading supply company. If you know of where some can be found let me know. Would be very happy with 50 pieces to get started.

Re: Auction finds
Jealous.
I'd love to find a decent .40-65 or .40-82 in an 1886
I have a Browning 1885 in .40-65

Nice find! Hope to see a range report.
That's why when I see loaded 25-20 ammo I buy it! Last boxes cost me 50 bucks!!!!
Sorry to say all my brass is used.

Re: Auction finds
There was a guy over on cast boolits in the vendor section that reformed starline 32-20 into 25-20. Sorry don’t remember his name.
a Pennsylvanian who has been accused of clinging to my religion and my guns......Good assessment skills.

Re: Auction finds
Ford wannabe, that would have been Grumpa. I bought some of his conversions (32/20-25/20) and they work great. Sadly Grumpa has died. He had a tutorial on converting the brass, a little research on Cast Bullets Forums should turn it up.

Re: Auction finds
For 25-20, you might try Load X. I got some brass from him last fall and it was even properly head-stamped.
