Good Thing It Was A Small One
The 30-30 works ok on the little ones like this, but I would use at least a Model 71 on the big ones. Probably an '86 in .45-70 would be better.

Problem is that those Lubber Grasshoppers are poisonous. You can't cook them and eat them. It only takes 4 of them to eas as much in a day as a full grown cow.

Hey Jim, we were in your old stomping grounds west of Ritzville, Wa. this weekend! Not much changed, but still neat country in a rugged way.
