Painting of "Vietnam Veterans Memorial"
I just happened to see this image again today...
This painting of "The Wall" touches me every time I see it...
The artistry and emotions it conjures up are enough to take my breath away -- and maybe that's what the artist intended.
I'm sure some of you may have friends and comrades on the wall.............
Rest In Peace to all those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Re: Painting of "Vietnam Veterans Memorial"
I've been to the wall once to visit the names of a couple high school friends who didn't come home. It's something I'm glad I did, but it's overwhelming also. I wont make another visit, as it's just too sad to see all those names again.

I think one of the most striking things is to look at the end of the wall. To see the last name. To consider what could have been.

Wow. If that doesn't stir up tears in a person, they have no heart.

The weather just seem appropriate the last time I saw the moving wall.

Re: Painting of "Vietnam Veterans Memorial"
I'm one of the guys who is in DC every Memorial Day weekend for the "Run to the Wall". Me and something like a half million of my closest friends ride through the streets of the Capital from the Pentagon to the Wall. That in itself is a very moving experience. I don't go for the speeches or the music. I go to visit with Brothers who are forever enshrined there. I've done exactly as the painting shows, and I can tell you...I've had that same eerie feeling. We who visit the Wall year after year are aging, balding, many falling waaayyy out of shape but those of our brothers-in-arms enshrined there will always be the young, fit troopers we knew...answering their country's call. We will pass on unremembered, as it should be. Those who made the ultimate sacrifice will ALWAYS be remembered. Also...as it should be.

Guys, I gotta tell you...
The personal stories of your experiences with The Wall are just as moving as the picture............
RIP and God Bless for all those we lost.
