Had a great time at the Tulsa show and obtained a few new toys. First up is a lever gun (naturally). A Savage 99 in .308. Tapered octagon bbl. and straight grip. How old timey can you get?



Found this 1st gen Colt, 1907 that Christies had converted to .357 with Micro sights. I know, sacrilege but what's done is done. Colt bbl and cyl and you wouldn't believe how tight the action is. Can't wait to shoot it. (Range report coming.)


Then this old reprobate. 38 WCF from 1904 that's had it's bbl chopped to 5 1/2" and shame of all shames, wire wheeled. I'll crown the bbl and replace the sight. Then maybe some action work. It's in time but a little loose, shootable but I like them to be a little better.

Good stuff. The Colt .357 looks like a good shooter.
I bought a 2nd Gen 5.5" .357 a couple years ago. It's a good shooter and cheap to load for. I was surprised how much snap the .357 has out of an SAA.

I still have that show on my bucket list! Whether I come home with guns or not, I just want to attend and see what 4,000 table show looks like! And since my brother lives near Noble, Ok. I can visit him and we could do the show together!

Heck yeah, come on down. There's another coming up the spring. April 6 & 7. 7 acres in the building. You have 15.4 seconds to look at each of 4200 tables during the 18 hours. Wear your best walking shoes or rent a scooter. It's amazing.

That 15 seconds is for spending all of both days but yeah you can whip on by those tables of surplus uniforms and guys selling etched mirrors. I have seen a guy thrown out of the show for having a table full of cameras though. You can buy a pass that is good for half a day Friday too. Just look up the web site. Wanamacher Arms Show.
