Jess worked this bird for me yesterday.

The fall is on here now and it is a wonderful time of year.




The squirrels are fat just now.


The WMR continues to provide. I never knew how content I could be with such a small rifle after years of centerfires.
120 paces (rested).


Fox's to deal with as per normal.
Chicken killer, 30yds.


Chicken killer, 60yds, 22lr subbie.


There are others but it gets a little boring.....

Pheasant season is on and only one has fallen to a breech loader shotgun so far this season.
Most are taken with black powder frontstuffers.

Well done Nath! Our pheasant season has just opened, Claro has been ready to get at it all summer. Yesterday she had a stellar day, 8 or 9 flushes!

This side of the pond the leaves are just about off the trees... I despise the leaves!

Great post! I was kinda astonished at the amount of game I saw in the headlights and from a kayak and public bus when I was wandering around the East Coast of England around King's Lynn.

Am I right in believing that most of the squirrels in England are invasive imports from the US or Canada? (does this pay you guys back for your "gift' of what we call "English Sparrows"? I'm told they are neither English nor sparrows).

Cheers! I can still smell, taste, and remember the buzz from a cool pint of Strongbow Cider!

What is wrong with the trees there? Here in Texas, we have 2 colors. Green and brown. The change from green to brown happens over about a week, then all the leaves fall off.

Those are some good pictures of the game there. Someone will be eating some delicious meals.

Kind of correct.
The grey was imported from North America.
The problem is it brought a pox that our native red squirrel has no resistance to.
So the grey is viewde as vermin with no closed season.
Reds are protected 365 days.

Real butter I hope! We didn’t have much of a fall here. Nice pic of the leaves on tree. I’m hoping to find a cheap Kentucky type rifle next week at the show. Always enjoy your write ups and pictures. Todd

The little bug, the pheasant head with the action of the gun. Very nice.....the second one..with the fall leaves...could have been taken here.....the mushroom..can you smoke that? ...fat squirrels.....nice Nath...thank you for taking the time to post them.----6. It is still raining here. We probably need to dig "turtle" ditches soon. For those who know that reference, I was at Greaves for a year.

Our trees have just about turned brown all over in this area.
