Thanks buddy, those plungers are pretty neat they`er designed so when ya plunge the cloths are sucked up against the plunger which i guess sucks the water through the cloths.

Whoa there Pitchy! Your waaaaayyy too modern for me. You really think my Italian wife could figure out that learning curve????????
I have the "Standard Family Size" for her and it does just fine...thank you!-----6.
(ps...watch that guy from Maine, if he comes around he will steal the dang bolts that hold that contraption together. That's why my clothes washer is one piece......except when he comes around I got to bolt it to the frame of the house and tack weld the nut.----6

Re: Ok Sixgun
Pitchy....my wife just watched your video and said, "Ain't no way he washed all those clothes." .....referring to the clothes on the line. I with her on that....everything is spaced out perfectly with clothes pins. Norma did that...right?....don't you tell a lie now!
Hey, for real, NOTHING works as good as a Maytag wringer. Because of the animals, we have lots of blankets to wash and with this dual setup I can wash 4 BIG loads in 45 minutes MAX. Then, like you, I take em outside and hang em on the line.
We have a full electric house...everything electric....water, heat, air conditioning, etc and we are also in one of the countries highest electric kilowatt hour rate and out electric bill seldom goes over $170 in the summer and about $110 the rest of the year.
You and I are probably the only guys on the board who live like they did back in the thirties.----6

Re: Ok Sixgun--video added--
That baby works real nice. Is there a spring in the rollers that "gives" when the material gets thicker? Looks like a curved flat spring above the upper roller. The rollers look to be in great shape...original to the machine?
Cute apron! I wonder how long it will be before you hook up a motor to drive those gears.
last time Jay was here (Old Win.) he left 4 or 5 pairs of white underwear with some strange looking brown streaks on the backside. Said I could have em for wiping down old guns. I have a lot going on and have no time to wash em so how about if I send them to ya to scrub by hand to test out your new washing machine?----6

Yep the thick spring applies the pressure on the rollers and adjustable , the rollers look to be original.

Well, I've have you boys know that they cannot be my shorts because there are only stains on one side. After I stain up one side, I turn them inside out and use the other side. And another thing, these dang shorts have pockets about the same size of a single action Colt hand sewn on them. Mmmmmmmm

You guys crack me up!
That's pretty wild Pitchy! I remember my dad asking his mom about 20 years ago, she as about 90 at the time, what she thought was the best invention of her lifetime. She said the electric washing machine. Said it freed up more of her time than anything else that she could think of.
Amazing.

Re: Ok Sixgun--video added--
If I was a younger man and had plenty of cash, I would bankroll you to get a patent on that. There would be plenty of people who live off the grid who would pay for a machine like that to last them a lifetime. I've never seen anything like it.
For about 95% of clothes washing you would only have to add the clothes, water, soap...mix it up, let it sit for 10 minutes, mix a little more and wring them out. The real dirty clothes, like the way mine are, would have to soak a half hour, then a little agitating, wring and rinse.
I really like that. -----6

That's really neat Lenn. I remember, when I was a kid, my Dad put an electric motor on Mom's Maytag. Just replaced the gas engine with an electric since we were close to a big town and had electricity. Mom used two rinse tubs, the second had bluing in it. My sister got bathed in the bluing water after the wash was done and I was put into the first rinse.

Thanks guys, yep when electric motors came out it must of been great .
Todd the bungy needs to be there or it snaps over center hard and would be destructive.
Later today we`ll try a load of cloths in it.

Pretty neat M.M......You and my dad are only about 10 years apart.....he would have been pushing 90. .I try to tell people all the time that we have waaaayaaaaayyyyyAYYYYY more than my parents generation did. He was raised with an outdoor outhouse and did not have indoor plumbing at all until WW2. My grandmother had an outdoor oven where she used to make bread. When he came back from the war, he could not believe the house had running water.
People did not waste anything in those days. We are all too "fat" today.-----6
