Pitchy....just looking at you when you were "just a lad" confirms my belief that the Good Lord keeps certain people from fraternizing with one another. Yea, you and I, along with that hombre in Maine (Old Win) were kept far apart for a reason.

Local beauty Martha on the knuckle.
That's me behind the windshield of my 74 cubic inch knucklehead Harley and friend Andy on my war surplus 45 inch Harley.
I was heavily influenced by listening to the stories my Dad and his buddies told about their motorcycle exploits.

Lenn, I took a close look at your Dad's pic and I can't see anything that makes it an Indian. Looks just like my 47 knuckle to me. 'Course I had trouble focusing on the old knuckle with Martha's leg in the way.

Re: Guess it runs in your blood
Yes nothing compares to riding especially if with friends. Started April 1966 on a Honda 305 Dream. Rode to work 5-6 days a week year round, 34 miles each way, when the V65 Magna started running a little rough I purchased in May of 2004 a new Suzuki Hayabusa. Looks good and runs good. My youngest son, 26 years old decided he wanted to ride the V65. We rebuilt the front forks, all brake calipers and replaced the 3 break rotors and fuel lines etc. Runs pretty good and so far he has not had any trouble except with automobile driving idiots. We started building riding memory's when he was very young. I better quit rambling. Oh yeah the lady on the bike is very pleasing on the eyes for sure.

Thanks everyone, feel free to post pics of your bikes.
I`ll give it a shot one of these days Six, will have to use the 94 evo and the back tire is bald so might be a little tricky.
Here`s a picture of the Knuckle above, it was a buddy of mine , he had it fixed up pretty nice in this photo.

Now there's the Understatement of the Day!
Re: Guess it runs in your blood
The lady on the bike was rather easy on the eyes, which is better than today's young women just being easy.
Living in the Dallas area, I see too many idiots driving as if they are stoned. I would love to get a motorcycle again, but my self preservation instinct just keeps getting in the way.

Agreed. I sometimes wonder if they are trying to compensate for all the blubber the majority of them carry any more. I pick my son up at the local college now and then. It's sad to see all these girls either side of 20 with eye-sore figures. Cripes, my 49 year old wife (and mother of 3) has a better figure than most of them.

Well bro I get it, go to the doctor to find out about a lower end problem and they make several appointments to get my lungs and heart checked.
Heck with that I`m canceling all them , if I don`t get what's bothering me fixed I hope my heart gives out .
Glad ya enjoyed the ride bro, wish I could of done it today again.

Pitchy, you know that a bunch of doctors just run tests to get paid. There is probably less wrong with you than with most of the city dwellers 20 years younger than you.

That isn't an Indian in the first photo. The shift and final drive would have been on the right if it was. On a Harley they were on the left. Indian controls were reversed.

You guys are all wrong.........you motorcycle experts.......just listen to a guy who knows Winchesters and Colts........Indians are animate beings who have spent the last 200+ years eating excrement from white guys who own Harley's.....make sense?
OK, I had an extra Fosters Lager tonight.......see ya in the a.m.---6
On a serious note my second in command buddy...(I only have three friends)....has two original (all original...untouched) Indians and three Hendersons.......yea....these bikes have leather grips on the handlebars with spark advances on the handlebars........two of them are in ...once again...unmolested condition, complete with scratches and worn tires......and run well....
His father collected this stuff back in the forties/fifties and after he stepped in front of a train, my bud inherited it all.....----6

Re: Guess it runs in your blood
I've been given permission to get myself another Harley, and I'm thinking I'd like to find an old shovelhead in need of restoration. I'm finishing up a 46 CJ2A jeep restoration that I've been working on for 3 years, and once that sells I think a little bike project is in order.

Worked out okay, picked up a 77 FLH. I'm fixing indicator lights that were never wired in, neutral, high beam, oil warning, turn signal, speedo light, and adding a tach. This is a rare bike, Farmall didn't make many shovels in 77..... hahaha

Re: Guess it runs in your blood
I sold my last full size motorcycle a couple years ago. I like the all day, or week, iron-butt rides and "small" scoots just don't do it for me. I got so I couldn't pick up my big beasts anymore and the smaller cruisers were not doing it for me. Maybe someday I'll get a Harley three-wheeler. I really miss the road. I'll be making do with the new camping rig, though.
Here's me and my last "real" motorcycle. I could and did ride that sucker 6-800 miles a day, but I couldn't pick it up or move it backwards up a slight incline, soooooo

Real cool Ron nice looking scoot.
Blaine have ya rode, or sat on say a Fat Boy or Heritage, they are real low which lowers the center of gravity and easier to handle but not near as comfortable as a dresser.

For a real short time I had a Harley Lowrider....A superior crusier. But, it was no easier to ride on trips than the Jap 900 that I had (which was also a good bike) Ok, I'm spoiled and like my creature comforts like cruise control.. Those Fat Boys are real, real nice scoots, though.

I understand we had a Road Glide we put 30,000 miles on that was comfortable and a 97 1500 Goldwing i had trikes we put 31,000 miles on the wife really liked that bike.
I`m getting old and fat and don`t go on long rides any more if i did it would be a cruiser for sure.
I`ll have to get my 77 and Fat Boy out and take a picture as all the pics i have are stuck on PB.
Stay tuned.

Re: Guess it runs in your blood
Nice bikes all of them!! I've got some buddies from HS coming out again to fish Montana end of next month. We squeezed in a couple days on Harleys last year and will try it again this year. Last year there was a freak snowstorm in September that closed Yellowstone, and when we tried to ride Harleys over Beartooth we only got to Vista Point and had to turn around because of black ice. We're going a couple weeks earlier this year...hahaha
