Is that the one from several years ago that was under the control of terrorists and running out of fuel? The pilot ditched it near the beach when he couldn't make any airport to land.

Or is this a new one?

That would really get my attention.

That's what I was thinking, but I wasn't sure. This one was still under power when the pilot bellied it in. That one engine sure choked when it started sucking water.

I'm thinkin' that's not real. Real well done maybe, but not real life. The sound of the engines sucking in water is wrong and I don't think the structural integrity of the wing would hold the engine as it dunked, and since the left wing tipped first, the plane should have made a hard left. And something about those passengers jumpin out the door looks wrong 8)

Cool vid though!

Here's that other vid Joe:

I'm with Tycer ... the timing and the physics of it all don't look right. Still, nicely done.

Phony as a $3 bill. That plane makes a 180 degree turn on a dime in a matter of seconds to come right back, and the water in the splashdown looks like amateur CGI effects something out of a Saturday night Scifi Channel movie.

What passengers, jumping out of what door? My wife and I've watched it several times and just watched it again and we didn't see that.

I'm not as sure as you guys are that it's fake.

Unless there is some type of on board anti-gravity device, an aircraft of that size could not have performed a 180deg turn so quickly, within such a tight radius at that altitude.

I say BS.

But it is exciting to watch.

Thats my take as well.
An A-10 Warthog would be hard pressed to of made that turn in that short of time.
Besides it was not on the "News" so it never happened. :)

An A10 Warthog would make a turn tighter than that, much tighter. While on war-games we had one light us up, go up on a wing, pivot and head back the other way in less than 100 yards forward motion. The circle diameter was probably 100 yards. We were in a clearing and it took most of the sky above us to do it. It was probably doing about 250 mph based on the speed relative to the 100 mph Crashhawks which flew above us NOE just minutes before. Frighteningly impressive. A passenger plane would rip its airframe rivets out trying to do that manouver. Based on the capabilities as I am aware of them, the film clip is fake.

Man, beach side service..... I'll book my next flight to Florida on that airline; I keep threatening to wear my swim trunks and flip flops so I don't have to continuiously undress for the TSA personnel.
