Sadly, some people remain unaware of the consequences of petting gators, or even allowing them to be near.
While generally true, in 1976 I was stationed at Eglin AFB in Florida. We lived in an apartment complex that was complete with boat dock. We had a gator that lived under the dock. He/she (just how do you tell with gators?) was well fed by those that fished. Folks swam around the dock regularly without any issue other than the gator swimming nearby.
Now note, I said the gator was well fed. I imagine that if it wasn't fed we'd have had a "Monster from Piedras Blancas" situation on our hands.

I put gators, snakes, lizards, spiders, wasps, mosquitoes, slugs, Muslims, and other things that bite/sting/spread diseases in the same category.....the "get the f___ away from me" category------6

After the reptile show last weekend, my boy and I had gator appetizers and frog legs for lunch -- tasty!
I was going to say tastes like chicken with a slight bouquet of stump water and frog slime in the background but you sort of beat me to it....almost....
