Been wanting to test them in my .45" smoothrifle for weeks and yesterday I got to do it.
They are good! .440" roll down the barrel, the .445" need a gentle push.
The first rabbit I will spare from a photograph!
I only was low and inch or so as it faced away but let's just say the saddle and back legs are good!
I took a couple more shots with the larger ball and yes this is the size of ball I will be acquiring from now for this gun!
Switching to shot I got me a sitter rabbit and a running rabbit then called it enough.
I took a couple of photos but boy I am getting wide!
Over the years I have had a few .45 smooth bores both flintlock and caplock, my last one was a caplock carbine and Nath your posts make me feel real stupid for selling it However I am still looking for a replacement.
Ray, I never tried two patched balls in mine but if I do get another I'll give it a go..
Whatever you do always give 100%........... unless you are donating blood.
Over here the teens use the word "thick" for what you called wide. I tried to tell them that in my day "thick" meant diminished mental capacity but no one pays any attention to me. Glad you found the right diameter ball for your gun.
