Dunno if many of you load Bismuth for web footed creatures BUT Ballistic Products and Roto Metals have it on sale at the moment for $17 a pound I ordered 7 pounds of #2 and 7 pounds of #4 from BPI with shipping it was $250 . About three years ago I bought 7.7 pounds of #1 from Precision Reloading and it cost me shipped a bit over $200 .
Normally I'd just get the #2's and be done with it for the Canada's , but I think I have a Boykin Spaniel pup on the way so I wanna bust some ducks for the little dog hence the #4's !

Re: Bismuth
Thanks. I'll buy some #4 for my muzzle loader, incase I want to turkey hunt on restricted areas.

Re: Bismuth
I used to love to duck hunt but regulations soured me on it and I don't own a gun with a chrome bore. We have a huge population of year round Canadas that have a liberal season and limit but it's just so much trouble.

Re: Bismuth
I tried some #6 HEVI-SHOT in my 28 ga reloads- boy it is just MAGIC on pheasants.
Wanted to try those on puddle ducks for jump shooting but there wasn't any water that fall.
I used some Kent tungsten stuff on sea ducks and it sure is a heck of a lot better than steel.
I even tried some Remington HeviShot turkey loads on the sea ducks but the recoil durn near made the lay out boat capsize!

10-4 on that! I mostly hunt with my 12' home made cajun skiff pulled up in the weeds on shore but once in a while hunt deeper water and those are killers on both ends.

Re: Bismuth
Stupid question time but first can bismuth be made into bullets, and if yes does anyone make Bismuth bullets commercially? States like Commifornia where lead bullets are tabu would be a good place to market bismuth bullets.

Re: Bismuth
Ji- bismuth is kind of brittle IIRC and not sure if it would stand up to rifling. I suppose if it were in a jacket it would work well enough...
