New 45-70
Picked up my Taylors 1886 takedown 45-70 today. Wow, what a rifle. The case hardening and wood to metal finish is perfect. The action feels like its rolling on ball bearings its so smooth. Darned weather means i cant shoot it yet......but im excited. Its incredibly heavy which should be great for recoil reduction. Sorry that i cant post a pic.

Where is the photographs? Photographs are essential! This is a rifle I want to see.

its the US flag when fully exposed....(the tattoo).
and thanks for posting the pics. the projectiles are 305 grain Lehigh Defense Controlled Chaos. Pushing them with 46.5 grains of IMR 4198. I wanted to work up some loads using 3031 but out of 3 different reloading manuals i found 3 different load groups....some were nearly 12 grains apart.

Re: New 45-70
I always wanted a Browning 1886 but now they're as rare as hen's teeth. I wonder how the quality compares Taylor's vs Browning. Who make's the Taylor's? I know it's Italian but forget which maker. I don't believe it's Uberti but not sure. Sure is a beauty though.
