MEC 9000
I just took the plunge and got a new MEC 9000 16 gauge . Already have 9000's in 12 , 20 and a pair of 28's . I'm vacillating whether to get one in a 410 as well . A friends kinda offered me a slightly used 410 Grabber I might just make do with . the price makes it more then reasonable that's for sure .

Re: MEC 9000
IMO the Grabber is just as fast as the 9000 when you add in the time to box the ammo up. They are both good machines. When I take the shell off my Grabber I place it in the mec boxing tool and when it's full I put the shells in the box.
Re: MEC 9000
You have a right to your opinion and I have a right to disagree
If the 9000 isn't having any issues you can crank out some shells . As to boxing I don't generally worry about that , if I'm loading a goodly amount they fall in a plastic hooper thing I have and then go in a five gallon bucket .
I've said this before and I'll say it again and more then likely say it the rest of my life . A Ponsness Warren machine will crank them out way faster and easier then any MEC I've ever owned hydraulic's included !
If PW's weren't so darned expensive even on the used market I'd have one of them for each gauge 10-410 .

Re: MEC 9000
Incidently this 16 gauge 9000 is replacing a 16 gauge 650 I got a year or so ago also new . I'm not big on buying new loaders but 16 gauge stuff is generally hard to come by on the used market in decent shape .
Now if I could just get a decent 10 gauge progressive . To my knowledge the only game in town for a 10 gauge progressive is the Ponsness Warren LS-1000 and that's a cool GRAND NIB plus an additional $40 to get the factory to make the slight change so I can load 2 7/8" .

Re: MEC 9000
I kind of attached to 28 ga, stuff but my son keeps trying to switch me over to 20 ga., which I have as well. I know 20 ga. is less expensive but there's something about the 28 that just keeps calling me.

Re: MEC 9000
Yes sir hence the reason I have a pair of 9000's for the 28 gauge !
Now truth be told the real reason I have two 28 9000's was the price , got them both used for about $175 a piece . The first one was a third owner and you could tell it'd been used but still works great . The second one I paid $150 and had to buy the shock absorber thing on the right which dealer cost was like $22 .
I'll buy the Grabber 410 my friend offered me when he decides to let it go , but if I run up on a deal for a 9000 in 410 I'll get that and send the Grabber down the road .

Re: MEC 9000
Any idea what a PW 800 convertible set up in 12 gauge would be worth? I have one sitting around just needs cleaned up.
Re: MEC 9000
I would say an 800C thats compatible with gauge conversions in 12 gauge that looks good and functions well is perhaps a $400-450 item depending on how bad a person wants it .
