What a rifle!!!
The local Sportsmans Warehouse has a new Winchester 1873 in 357 mag. Case hardened with beautiful wood. The action was as nice as my tuned Win 94. Looks almost as nice as the deluxe models. I fondled it for a bit and told it how much i loved it.....the salesman seemed a bit uncomfortable. Sure wish i couldve brought it home.

Yep, surely they were meant to satisfy that urgent need of a "insert your heart's desire here"!

I'm not an expert on '73s, but I thought the lock up was a bit weak for prolonged use with magnums?

Your local credit union should be able to fix you up with a nice little loan.

Re: What a rifle!!!
He's talking about a modern rifle, less than 2 years old construction, built for .357 magnum.
Not 44 magnum. Not .45 Colt +P+
I have one and it's great.

Re: What a rifle!!!
I have 2 of the Uberties, well one is Esperanza's. Both 44-40 but I had the hankerin' for a SRC so I bought a real Winchester which I am having trouble getting to shoot decent groups. Only thing I haven't tried is changing shooters. Yeah, I guess it could be me. It was made in 1896 and was rode hard and ---you know the rest.
I even changed the barrel to one that actually looks pretty good. Gotta try some gas checks in it.

Re: What a rifle!!!
I know it is a new rifle, but I thought the locking toggles were a bit small for extensive use.

Re: What a rifle!!!
I really doubt that a gun company would put a product on the market if it would not handle all factory ammo with out any warnings about it.

Re: What a rifle!!!
I think that '73 in .357 could stand a lifetime of shooting. Uberti has sold their model '73 in .44 magnum for at least a year and it tells Me there is a lot more strength in a modern toggle-link action than We have previously thought..https://www.gunbroker.com/item/744989528
