Lots of Cold Weather

Post by M. M. Wright »

4 below here in NE OK this morning with a couple inches of snow. Kinda unusual for us but I can remember having 3 consecutive nights of -5 but that's about 30 years ago. Supposed to warm up to 60s this coming weekend I'm staying in with a chest cold which is not a good thing for me.

Pitchy, how cold at your place this morning?

This part of north Arkansaw was 5 degrees this morning, Monday nite was 7 degrees. Sure glad I'm not still cutting wood.

Wednesday it got down to around 10 degrees in Dallas. That was colder than in Fairbanks, AK. In the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex, we call this "Stock Show" weather since it coincides with the Ft. Worth Stock Show. This cold or bad weather usually lasts until about the Super Bowl. After that, it starts to slowly warm up to Spring in late February or early March.

I was in Lusk, WY last nite, and it was only around 30ºF or so... Sorry, the season's global warming for the northern tier is not scheduled for several months... :P :P
