A young couple had newborn twin boys for which they felt they could not provide proper care, so they offered them on the international adoption market, receiving an offer for one of the children from BOTH Spain and Saudi Arabia.
When the prospective adopting parents flew in and spoke with the birth parents, they spent some moments together discussing the future of the boys.
The couple from Spain said they would name their son Juan, which had been the father's name.
The Saudi couple stated that they would call their son Amal, which was a highly honored name in their culture
.
As the new parents were leaving, the birth mother asked if they might send a photo every year or so.
Near Christmas the next year, photos of young Juan arrived.
The birth mother was delighted, but remorseful that they did not have any pictures of Amal.
Her husband sought to comfort her by saying: "Remember that they're twins - if you've seen Juan, you've seen Amal."
Happy Holidays, all !
