Took my erma gallagher carbine out for a woods walk.It has been relined to 50cal and it's quite reliable and accurate unlike the originals

I remember when those were on the market, and drooling over them in the annual Gun Digests. Please do share the load you have worked up. I have had the pleasure to own two Maynard Second Models over the years, and found them both to reliably shoot fist-sized groups at 50 yards.

Your load is basically determined by the case as the max you can put in it is about 42 grains of BP .I use a 450 gr 515 dia 50 bullet using a Lee mold ,the original rifling in the erma Gallaghers were really fast making some believe they used old surplus machine gun barrels to make them.Like I mentioned mine was relined to 50 cal with a slower twist for 50/70'type bullets
