Tom Threepersons
I have admired this holster design since I first set eyes on one in an El Paso Saddlery catalog. Here is the man behind that holster, and he was a man indeed!

Re: Tom Threepersons
He had a great idea for a holster. I have seen a few like that, but I am not sure if they are copies or the real thing.
It sounds as if he was born tough. To be only 18 when he killed the rustlers who killed his father is rather unusual. The rest of his career sounds as if he stood firm for what was right.

Re: Tom Threepersons
There were two Tom Threepersons, at the same time.
A Oklahoma Cherokee and a Canadian Blackfoot.
Both were champion rodeo riders and later, law-men.
Their stories often get confused.
One wonders how one man could do so much. There were two of them.

Yes, the other Tom Three Persons is mentioned:
"Lawman Threepersons is frequently confused with the Kainai rodeo star, Tom Three Persons, who was born in Canada."

Re: Tom Threepersons
I often have wondered why he was considered one of the lawmen of the "Old West" since he was born so late? He would have been just 20 years old around 1890, and that's surely not Old west in my book. He was a real lawman, and seems to have had a colorful life for sure!
He probably spent more time in a car chasing bad guys, than he spent on horseback chasing bad guys!

That was an interesting read for me. While serving as a Deputy with the Comanche County Oklahoma SO, I carried my Colt Python in a Tom Three persons holster. God Bless.

Re: Tom Threepersons
Between Jr. and myself we have several Tom Threepersons holsters. Some by El Passo saddlery Some by others. To me, they just work. Maybe I should get one fully tooled?
