Apologize in advance

Post by Bill in Oregon »

Some might find this "unsuitable," but way back in 1965, when I was 12, I had no idea there were "videos" to go with the 45s.
I don't honestly need no more than this, boys. :o

Now I realize American Band Stand wouldn't have shown that. But shows like Malibu You, a summer time afternoon dance show, would have had girls in bikinis dancing to that song. Besides, I may be old, but I'm not dead and I can still appreciate a pretty girl. Then again come to think of it, she's probably in he 70's now.

Notice in the opening clip she steps off a porch where two girls are playing jacks? When's the last time you saw that?

1965... I was trying to figure out the intricacies of a 1950 Ford Flathead, in the "woodie" I'd just bought for $50...

Evidently she went on and made quite a life for herself. Liz Brewer is her name. Hey Gamekeeper, she' from your side of the pond so there is no excuse you didn't know of her  . She is some sort of event organizer and etiquette guru and savvy business woman. FYI, even at her age, she still is pretty good looking lady. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_4iu-yk2os

Outstanding memory of 1965.

Busted in the choir loft of the local catholic church with a blonde built like a brick s**t house. By a priest that would go on to be the Arch Bishop of Los Angeles and be retired for covering up priest sexual abuse. Funny thing is we always wondered about him back then.

My dog was wiggling like that the other day...

A good dose of wormer calmed her right down.

I am another who was born in 1965. It sure was nice listening to the radio as a kid and hearing great music from the 50s, 60s, and the new stuff as I got older. Rock and pop sort of left me in the late 80s and early 90s. Heck, even the actresses are not as pretty as Raquel Welch and Ann Margaret were. I never really thought about music videos before Empty Vee (MTV) came along.

1965? I was a snot-nosed 5 year old kid living in Grant Heights housing complex in Nerima/Tokyo, Japan, and attending kindergarten at Sancta Maria Catholic School. I developed a phobia of nuns and penguins back then (couldn't tell them apart).
That gal must be a great grandma by now. I'm sure gravity has not been kind to her after all these years.
