Win 94 vs. marlin Texan

Post by gcs »

Still on the hunt for a reasonable Win 94, but lately have seen a few Marlin straight stock 336's.
In the opinion of the collective genius of this board, which is the better carrying rifle? Both straight stocks, both 20" bbl
Any real difference? Reason asking, I'm getting old and about wore out, little things to make it easier may help down the road, Golden years my butt.
Thanks as always...

They probably shoot the same, but IME Marlins tend to be heavier than Winchesters.

If you're going to spend any time carrying it, I'd go with the Model 94.

:)
Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.

History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

Aye, that and that hump to attach the lever is right where at least one of my fingers want to be, mostly two, making it uncomfortable in the hand.
