Were I the Good Samaritan, my response would be, "See you in court, a**hole!" I know 100's of attorneys, a few of whom are pretty sleazy, but not one who would take the case of the robber, and dozens of top-notch guys and gals who would take the defense, pro bono. It'd be over after a 15-minute preliminary hearing on a Motion to Dismiss.
Would I bring a chair to a gun/knife fight? Yep, if that's what I had...
How can an unarmed, untrained individual use "excessive force" in battling an armed felon. Stupid assumption. He simply used the requisite "superior force" to stop the robbery, then attack on himself.

It would be nice to be a judge when a case like this came up, I'd throw the book at this scumbag as well as the scumbags lawyer, then I would stand and applaud the Good Samaritan!
Star pukes won't support the good guy, they are opposed to us well rounded, right thinking God fearing types!!
His mother should be more concerned about what she raised, and why he's robbing places. She's obviously got a warped outlook on life, as does her son. I can't see this one going anywhere good for the thief. I hope the good Samaritan counter sues this jackass and gets a settlement from him instead!

This is as bad as the idiot that broke into a guys house and got shot, and the crooks parent was moaning that the gun made it unfair to his son.

Hard for me to respond -- laughing too hard! As a court reporter, I have worked with maybe 100 judges -- the most liberal of whom would gladly put your weenie thru a wringer for unpaid parking tickets, much less armed robbery!
