There's 2 grades of this stuff, and it looks like it'll make very nice pistol grip panels. (each panel measures 9/16" thick X 2-3/4" wide X 4" (+/-) long.
The "S" grade has more discernable graining than the "R" (regular ?) grade.
Nice. Can you get them "aged"?
I have a set of old Tylers Tru Fit ivorex. They are "aged", and I really like the look.
Problem is, mine are for a Ruger, I need Colt.
"Oh bother", said Pooh, as he chambered another round.
Pete I have ordered bone and fossilized ivory from this guy for years. His products are always top shelf, and he ships right away. He is a great guy and delivers just exactly what he says. No complaints whatsoever.
While IDK for sure, since I don't have any yet, the material "might" be able to stained/aged via soaking in a large mug of very strong tea (for God knows how long ).
Never tried to color any of these synthetic materials. Have had good luck staining bone with alcohol based amber stains to give an older yellowed look. It depends I guess on how porous it is. If not porous, any stain might rub off easily. I do admire the cross hatching of this stuff you posted, best looking synthetic I've seen
