Last year before the elections I got on the AR bug and to be honest it was me deciding to get some in case the evil was elected and if so sell later for a decent profit because I was certain she'd put the kybosh on AR sales . Anyway I ended up with several i variouse cartridges .
A week or so ago I bought a very slightly used Savage Hog Hunter in 308 for about 2/3's the cost of a new one . My intention was to use this thing with SS loads and a can for deer control . So needless to say I have taken one more step towards the other side ................................................. !
And I ordered my first suppressor a Yankee Hill something or other for the 308
Whats next a 338 Lapua or a BMG perhaps

I've done quite well with AR15 style rifles! Had 4 of them that I always bought when prices were down. Then sold them when prices went stupid again. About time for me to buy another, as they're cheaper today than I've seen in 30 years!
Even though I find the AR style rifle to be ugly as homemade soap, they are accurate and usually work well.

I have an AR but they do absolutely nothing for me. Bought it back in my .mil days. I know how to use one but I cant say I find them very fun anymore.
These days I get a ton of enjoyment out of bolt and lever guns. I do have a .338 RUM that I've been threatening to have built into a long range rig for quite some time though. It's just another one of those half finished (actually not even started yet) fun projects I find for myself. Heck it doesnt even have a scope on it anymore so I guess that project is a long way out still. I do have another 94 Trapper that should be arriving within the week though!

That's why I sold mine after only a year or two after getting it.
If you have the money and time to accessorize, then, yeah. Cool like a Custom Car.
But I don't enjoy customizing cars and I don't enjoy customizing guns.
I'm happy with my PTR-91 and my Levers.

Other then scoping them all I add is a detachable stud in the butt stock and a thing that goes on the top rail to hook my brass catcher . I've gotten overly anal about brass especially the Lapua brass I use in the 260 , the Grendel brass and the 450 BM brass . Matter of fact when I hunt with these things I always have the brass catcher on when I'm up in a treestand .

Mine is set up as near as I could get to the one o was issued in the USMC. ACOG, light, IR laser etc. Ive got a lot of money in it just not as fun as an old 30-30 to me. I may get a NM version one of these days just so i can try to go for my distinguished metal shooting again.
