The Palmetto State Armory upper did pretty well in torture test; an aftermarket handguard with more ventilation should keep it in good shape for fairly robust semiauto use.

Last week they had complete lowers for $130 and complete uppers for $250. I tell ya it was tempting.Figured if I bought that, the 25 Remington would have came waltzing in right after! 
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres
