Thanks for the replies.
I have quite a few lever guns.
Most are Marlins but I own several 99's
and a Browning 71 348.
Soon as I get my wife to help me
I will post some pics.

Compared to most gun forums, this is a 'drama-free' site.
Occasionally a couple of us will get into a dust-up just for fun, but it doesn't go far (even if I try to egg em along some)...

Howdy from just outside of Waxahachie. Doc AJMD429 is right about this place. Besides, we have a few folks drop in once in a while who have been to some interesting places and have done things worth noting. And we even have some who will post jokes to lighten the mood.
Lots of gun knowledge around here. I have learned a lot and have had fun learning it.

Navajo,
Welcome to the forum form NorthCentral Texas east of MvKinney.
You said "Soon as I get my wife to help me I will post some pics." May I suggest tat you not use Photobucket as thay are in the process of running off many of their long term users by converting a formerly free service to a rather costly service; that plus too many ads and generally slowresponse time has forced a mass exit to other means.

Welcome from Pennsylvania. This is a great bunch of guys. No internet Rambo's, and more than a few who have been there and done that when it comes to guns. Glad to have ya. Tom.

Re: New guy from Texas
Holy Moly Navajo! I'm glad to hear you made it out of that with "only" a concussion and general beating! Here's why: That brought back a sad memory for me. A few years back a buddy of mine moved back "home" to Kentucky to "start over" after hitting a rough patch here in New Mexico. He'd been staying at my backcountry vacation place after losing his house in Albuquerque, so I would see him quite often out there. After he made it to Kentucky, I didn't hear from him for a while, but that wasn't unusual, so I didn't think much of it. A month or so later his dad called to tell me that on my buddies 2nd day back to Kentucky, he was trimming trees for his grandmother and somehow fell out of the tree...he ended up in the hospital with a brain injury and can no longer talk, walk, or essentially take care of himself..at the age of 35. He's been in a wheelchair since. We never figured out why he fell..and he didn't have a history of seizures that I know of, but I kind of wondered about it.
Thus, I am truly SO glad you are you still with us here!!!! Get well soon, man!

Re: New guy from Texas
Thanks Man.
I hate to hear stories like that.
I have a seizure alert/service dog but I had been mowing
and he was inside.
I know better i just wasn't using good judgement.
I have TBI so they rushed me in for a CT scan and
it showed no new damage.
My speech has been messed up since about
a year ago...I had a grand-mall that lasted several
minutes and I haven't spoken normal since.
It is what it is.
They took my DL and I haven't been able to work in
5 years.
But I can still hunt. The dog goes with me.
I put cotton in his ears.

Re: New guy from Texas
Hello and welcome from Houston. So you like shooting our local hog population with lever guns? I will do the same on occasion out around my ranch near Giddings, TX. I still like using a bow the best. Nice and quiet! And don't forget to chase the coyotes also. Now that is a challenge!
