Finally had some time today to stop by the range today to try out the Martini Monster. Started out today with some light .45 Colt loads.
What a hoot! Didn't have time to put it on paper but it sure put a serious thumpin' on some bowling pins. The guy I bought it from was complaining about a lack of accuracy. I think his problem might have been the 15+ pound trigger pull!!! I'll have to see what I can do about that. Some heavier loads and bullets are up next. I'm still up in the air about what to do with it but It's going to be fun getting there..

I'm sure! I bought a box of factory loads the other day, not sure I want to go there. If I do it will be with some light hand loads.
Trying to find the time to get it down to my gunsmith and get his opinions on what to do with it.

That could become quite a nice custom build, invest in some nice wood, matching stock and forend, recoil pad for sure! Could also have a muzzle break/ thread protector to help tame that 460 a bit!
Sure would be a great rig in 'straight wall' states and a good bear over bait gun.
Consider using the 460 S&W Mag cartridge as a BPCR in your Martini. Years ago when the 460 was new I experimented with blackpowder loads. A case full of black with a 45 Colt bullet gave quite a pyrotechnic display from a S&W revolver. I bet it would be entertaining in your Martini and you don't have to worry about 60kpsi like you would using full power 460 S&W loads.

The .460 S&W loaded with black powder is known as the .45 Brimstone and is popular as a cartridge conversion in Colt Walkers and Dragoons. A potent load is 60 grains of 3f and a 250 grain bullet.
Yes they are, my others are 3-4 pounds or so. This one has been around the block a few times so I'm guessing it's already been fooled with. Haven't had a chance to take it apart yet. Hoping to do that tomorrow.
I haven't had the Springfield '03 I bought that day out to the range yet either. Although I did run a couple of my super light .310 Round Ball loads through it in the back yard. One of Blondie's bird houses has a little .30 cal hole in the front of it and is missing the whole back wall.
I like the sound of the .45 Brimstone!

Yes, it could be made into something pretty nice. This is my 32-40 rifle that started out as a W.W. Greener 12G GP gun.
