R U sure that scope's 4x ?

IME, not many 4x scopes have no objective bell - so I'm curious.......................

The best way to determine it's value (how much someone's actually willing to pay for it TODAY) would be to surf only sold/closed guns-only auctions (online or brick & mortar) for another .30-30 Marlin 336 in the same condition as yours, and see what it actually sold for.

FWIW, unsold "asking", "opening-bid" & reserve "prices" are not a value - they are simply how much a seller's asking.

Yes it is a 4x meant for a .22 rimfire but will tolerate the 30/30's recoil according to Bushnell.

Are you buying or selling? If you are buying and know why it's misfiring, I'd say 100 bucks. If you're selling, I'd fix it and ask 250.

First: get it repaired or repair it yourself. Just might need a good cleaning of the bolt and receiver. If selling, you'll get a much better price if it functions properly.

Then check on the Marlin Owner's Forum -- www.marlinowners.com/forum/

Posters there are always looking for the older JM proofed Marlins and those rifles seem to sell quickly.

The scope has very little value. The rifle would bring around $250 in this area. The missfire issue could be caused by many things, most of them are simple fixes.
