OT - Western Photography

Post by Hobie »

I was reading a copy of True West magazine and on the 2d or 3d page was a photo of George Inman (Scout & Friend of Buffalo Bill Cody) with a M8 Remington rifle, S&W pistol (ivory stocked) on snow shoes. Well that's some photo and so I had to go to the gallery advertising and found this...

I think you'll enjoy it, pay particular note to the "Wolfer's Cabin"...
Sincerely,

Hobie

Looked like it to me and the cartridges in the belt on the wall made me think .40-72 or some such.

Thanks Hobie I like that stuff. My dad worked on a ranch in north Montana in the 1920's not much different than these pictures. Looks like most carried a Colt sixgun too.

L.A. Huffman's photos are featured in two volumes that you can obtain on ebay fairly cheaply. BEFORE BARBED WIRE and THE FRONTIER YEARS are both books that will keep you reading and dreaming for a long time. My aunt gave my dad both volumes for Christmas in 1956 which were signed by the authors. Dust jackets are tattered and mostly toast, but the books are in great condition.
