Like Joe I hadn't heard anything then turned on the news. Too many years without much rain, then too much rain. Prayers up.

Tycer,
Are you referring to the landslide in Columbia?

Has anyone heard from or about Paul?

My bad, I was thinking of the one in California.

Hey guys, thanks for the concern. I've been out of town all week, just got in yesterday and was busier than a one armed paperhanger getting stuff taken care of here.

In regards to the query, the landslide in the news was way down south. Peru's been getting hammered by rain as well. The trip over to Bogotá took me through some nasty rain on La Linea pass, clear down to Ibagué. Yesterday on the return run got caught by rain just past "The Devil's Nose" and much of the way towards Ibagué was wet, interesting riding conditions indeed. But La Linea pass was dry and had a good travel time in spite of the aforementioned rain. There were a few landslides along the way, along with the bypass around Melgar being closed to traffic heading away from Bogotá (like me) so had to run through town - including running water in the streets.

Anyway, didn't personally experience any great issues along the way, but was dead tired when I got home. Six hours on a motorcycle through Colombian highways and byways takes its toll.

Thanks for asking. It's good to be home.

That's one reason I picked the Rumbler over the Classic Royal Enfield. It makes for a MUCH more comfortable long distance ride. Last November I put in around 2,300 or so KM over 8 days, 6 days included riding, 2 were relatively stationary due to ministry activities. This bike has definitely lived up to my expectations for individual travel needs.
