Winchester 86 45-90
Here is a couple of my Winchester 86 in caliber 45-90....Sorry, if I have been showing them before.... it is raining here now so I guess I am just bored....
The first one is mfg 1890 and the other one 1909....
Want one with full lenght magazine and octagonal barrel but that doesn´t show up here often....
Best,
Stefan

Very cool! Love the top one with the 1/2 round 1/2 Oct. barrel and 45-90s to boot!

Nice!
I have a full octagon, full mag., 45-90 that was made in 1888. Trust me, it doesn't look anywhere near as nice as your examples.

My 1886 TD .45-90 was made by Miroku and has been used to shoot targets and game from Blackbuck to Bison and Cape Buffalo.

Re: Winchester 86 45-90
Stefan,
Thanks on the look of the rifle. Mine is the basic level and the workmanship is true to Winchester standards. The deluxe versions of the Miroku 1886 have prettier wood and engraving, but are the same mechanically. I have one of those in .45-70 in my safe but have no pix of it handy.

This is a 45-90 that was "modified" by Bubba's brother.
Not a collector, but a LOT of fun to shoot.

Re: Winchester 86 45-90
My 86 in 45-90 is from 1916 so it still has the slow twist and will only stabilize 300 to 350 grain bullets. I have a 325 gas checked bullet mold that works very well in it over a charge of 34 grains of 5744. I've killed several deer with it.
26 inch octagon with full magazine. Your special order guns are worth much more than mine is.

Hey, what is your source of your 325 gas check bullets, M.M. Wright? I also have an early 1886 (octogonal barrel and full length magazine), and would like to start reloading for it. I have a Lyman 330 grain Gould mold for casting bullets, but a gas check is what I really want to use.
