Someone mentioned a mold

If memory serves, I saw someone here mentioned a 70 grain mold, whoever it was they were using it for a 25-20.
I have a 60 grain mould, 70 might be the best of all around weight. I have never liked the 86's for their increased rainbow trajectory.
If anyone has this mold, please provide the maker, heck let's hear about your favorite molds/ makers!

Arsenal molds makes a 70gr. Only had trouble with one oversized mold and they replaced it, no questions asked. I like their 5 cav. molds, drops lots of bullets and good quality ones at that.

That was probably me making the comment, Gunny. Here is my Arsenal mould -- it is a beauty; throws a perfect little 70 grainer with no drama.

You can find the web site easy with a search and order one up. I'll work up a report one of these days because I have been doing some experimenting. Right now it looks like you can get very acceptable results powder coating the bullet, no gas check, moderate 25/20 velocities (maybe even up to 1900 fps). Better accuracy at higher velocities was found, though with gas check and lube in the normal way.

But for grandkids -- this little babe powder coated with no gas check (5-cavity mould and a quick shake 'n bake would turn out a thousand of these fairly rapidly) -- said grandkids would be kept real happy I'm thinking.

I see they make a boat tail 70 grainer too. Very reasonably priced as well. Gotta get the shootin iron first!

I have a Lyman 257420 two cav that drops a 70 gr fp gas check bullet. Shoots lights out in my reclined Winchester 92. Either 50/50 Alox/Johnson's one step floor wax or powder coated. Same difference.

Earl's mould is a very nice one. If it would strain the resources a bit, Lyman still makes their 65 grain gas checked one. Only 25 caliber they make anymore. Nice little bullet.
