That sounds like something an "urban planner" would suggest...

The snark is valid, but I really, really hate "rolling coal".
I'm more along the lines of "petrol is the best btu to mass fuel we have... so lets use it in the most power to weght application possible.
"Rolling Coal" is a waste of horsepower.

I used to run vanity plates on my p/u in CA... 505A DEP. Didn't have the same effect in TX that it did in CA... But, my favorite two bumper stickers have always been... "No I ain't a Cowboy - I just found the HAT!", and "Don't Laugh, It's Paid For!" They're a might long for a plate...

No I ain't ready, but let's do it anyway!
My 07 Dodge 5.9l (359 c i) makes 325 horse & 625 lb ft torque at 1200 RPM. This affords me around 25 mpg on the highway. Truck weight is 9200 lbs, my 08 Jeep has a 3.8l V6 makes at best 130 horse and if I'm lucky I get 18 mpg on the highway.
Diesel is MORE efficient, makes more power for least amount of fuel burned.
Diesel is easier to 'crack' during distillation.
Diesels run at lower RPM, stay cooler, and have a longer service life.
The U.S. Is about the only country in the world that is not diesel heavy.
I'll 'roll coal' thank you.
On that first picture: About two years ago I was driving on a curvy mountain road above Beaver Utah and the vehicle pictured had a identical twin that got in front of me and wouldn't pull over. We followed that thing for something like 15 miles at about 20 mph!

Okay, if we're going to brag about fuel mileage... photo graphic proof...
It can read higher than that, but I can't push the reset button and pick up my camera fast enough!!!

Never meant to brag,Griff. Just stating that Diesel is more powerful and more efficient then gas engines.
That is impressive but I'm betting it a hybrid!

Actually, that's the Mr. Fusion home powerplant required to generate the 1.21 Gigawatts necessary to run the flux capacitor - which is between the seats in the passenger compartment.

If you live in Canada, you can get the Kei Trucks in 3cyl common rail diesel... But not in the US.

I drive diesel, and love it, but I HATE to see it when guys fill the air with black smoke. I stayed away from diesel till they got cleaned up a bit. Not an eco nazi by any means, but some guys are ridiculous, and really cause folks to turn against diesel. So you can make a statement, by blowing black clouds, but haters might have the last laugh.

I got 99 mpg once. I reset my diesel truck at the top of a hill, and got up to 55 mph coasting. I took a pic but it is long gone. Fun to do it though.

Nope, it's a '05 K30 with the 6.6 Duramax. Yep, I'd never get the mpgs I do hauling what I do with a gas engine...

Yep, when I hit the reset, it'd read 99.9, but by the time the camera would turn on and focus... it'd dropped, maybe I need to try with fresh batteries. My "everyday" ride doesn't have all those fancy electronics...
