A snowy day is a good day for....

Post by Mainehunter »

A gun show :D The gun club I belong to has their annual gun show this weekend. Did see the usual bolt rifles, a lot of AR stuff and parts, quite of few Winchester levers but no Marlins! Looks like 22 ammo is back in full stock. Was mostly looking for reloading stuff, pick up some primers but did score on 1000 rounds of 308, unfired, Lake City brass! :D I may go back tomorrow but it all depends on tomorrows Nor'easter we're suppose to be getting.

I hear you MH. Been trying to do some loading. Loaded some .357's yesterday.
Today, I wanted to try my Rainier 230gr RN .45 auto bullets in .45 Colt.
"Stinky" decided to supervise.
"Oh bother", said Pooh, as he chambered another round.

Haha yeah. He is a dufus.
I started using them several years ago to save my lead for my old Winchesters and because they loaded cleaner in my Dillon for high volume.
I use a ton of em in .38, .357, and .45ACP. I really like them and have had good luck with function and accuracy.

Monmouth Fish and Game had it's show today?

Didn't know - I always liked that show - small setting.
Have a souvenier or two from it as well. :D

Moving snow today. And tomorrow. And Monday. And.........

I heard about it but forgot. Moved snow a good part of the day Friday. Probably take Sunday night off cause it looks like I will be doing it for the next couple days.

Yes! I'd really like to make that one. Never been and I'd like to check it out. Gonna make an effort to go.
The wife says we will so there is a good chance it'll happen. :D

The Ancient Ones is always a good one. I was talking to a friend
of mine about it just this morning. Old crafts, jewelry, and all kinds
of firearms. Lots and lots of black powder stuff, of course!

The Twin City show is a little bit over whelming with over 250 plus tables and just like you Stretch... I like the smaller ones better. I haven't been to the Ancient One's in years but I've been hearing the number of firearm tables is increasing so I may end up going to that one. Forgot to mention the other gun show was at the Augusta Civic Center. I missed that one but the weird thing it was only for one day, Jan 14. The other show that's becoming popular is the Elks Club in Augusta and that's around September.

Good morning
A snowy day is great for tracking pheasants ! Some of the best pheasant hunting I was involved in was with a snowy covering fresh from early morning. Wabbits if there are no pheasant tracts.

I hadn't been to the Augusta show in years. My oldest son and I went last year and I couldn't believe it. It was awful. Nothing there. Probably why it was only one day this year.
