NRA Lever Action Silhouette Rule Change
For those who shoot NRA Lever Action silhouette, there is an interesting new rule change. I just received our club's 2017 NRA score books and included was a note that lever action shooters using a front globe sight will now be allowed to use a round aperture insert. Before only a post or post & ball insert was allowed. I use aperture inserts for other silhouette disciplines, so this is good news for me personally.

Cool. I like the aperture type front sights even for ordinary backyard target shooting. Even have one on one of my 'Ruger 22 LR Semiauto Pistols' (actually an AMT clone).

I shoot a lot of lever action silhouette, I tried the aperture front inserts a while back and went right back to the post. The targets fill up too much of the aperture, making it difficult to hold a little Kentucky for the wind, just couldn't seem to shoot as accurately as with the post. YMMV.

Re: NRA Lever Action Silhouette Rule Change
I thought the aperture front was wonderful. Shot one for years on my only really good air rifle (a Feinwerkbau). Then decided to try a post insert and my shooting immediately improved. Somehow my eye wants to keep the front aperture centered properly around the target while allowing it to float around the rear aperture, to my detriment. It's a post for me as long as I can still somewhat see the sights.
