Here's an old Ideal mould.

Post by Catshooter »

I thought y'all that cast might like to peek at.

Bullet weighs right at 130 grains, .430 for the various 44 calibers out there. Six's post about that fine looking old Ruger ten inch made me think of it. Pretty old mould, probably late /40s or so. Discontinued a long time ago, I found it used on eBay.

Dang! That's a beauty Cat. :D I believe that was designed for the 44 Russian. Another variation of that bullet is just like it but it has a hollow base. Those "short" bullet moulds are super dooper hard to find.

You can load two of those bullets in a 44 Special/Magnum. It would be one hell of a close range defense load.

Here's a shorty mould I have for the 38-55. Lyman #37583. Todd...Three legged Turtleman wants this mould so bad he offered me $1,000 for it. :D (not really)----6. 135 gr next to my 38-55 NEI 270 grainer.

Thought you'd like it Six.

I've got two of those 37583 Ideals in single cavity. If you know someone who is dying for one I'd part with one.

Those little .44 bullets are a lot of fun. I have a box of those 130s I got from somewhere.

Forgot about this one....another shorty bullet....32-40-32 Spl./8mm....Lyman 321427....138 gr. Gas check......in the middle is the standard Lyman 321297.

I made a couple of hundred bullets a couple of years ago but never shot any. Think I'll slap on some gas checks on these babies and seem how fast I can smoke em out.---6

I had a pair that were made for the 32-40 . Got them both from and older fellow that was selling all his casting stuff . He had bought the mold he said from James Georgen the gentleman in MN I believe that sells a lot of single shot/schuetzen stuff . Think the tag on it said he paid $250 and that was over twenty years ago . Seems to me I got $450 a piece for the ones I had .

I can well believe it 6pt. I've never seen, either in person or online an adjustable.

That's a cute little .32 bullet Six. And behind it is quite the collection of sights. Yikes! I wish I had been paying attention to those little beauties years ago. I can't hardly afford 'em now. Lyman and Redfield sure made some great sight in the old days didn't they?
