If you change your email address

If you change your email address, the system automatically locks your account. This is a feature that makes it harder for someone to hijack your account. HOWEVER, if you do NOT let the admins know - your account may get flushed along with all the spammers. So please, let us know if you change your email address on your levergunscommunity forum account.

I just got an email from someone who changed their email address. This prompted me to check and sure enough, there was another account that had also changed email address. It is very easy for such an account to get lost in the hundreds of spammer accounts that show up each week.

Just found this out. Thank gosh the admins let me back in after I updated my e-mail.

Thank you Paul for your quick and accurate help.

When I cleared my cookies the site must have seen my email addy as different somehow. Wouldn't recognise my user name or password, couldn't see my Captcha response, and no email sent to reset my password. Totally locked out.

I don't know how clearing cookies could have done that, but I won't be doing that again! I'm still locked out of another site that uses the same forum software, but now you may have given me a way in.

Went through the same thing once. If you change the email first, it's pretty tough to let someone know afterwards! Since you're locked out, you need to contact someone and no access to the forum to tell anyone!

That's why it's a good idea to keep the admin address in your address book...
